Marching Exhibition
On Saturday we will be participating in the Fulton County Marching Exhibition at Tri-Cities High School. This is an annual event for all Fulton County high school marching bands to present their halftime shows for one another. Bands will receive recorded comments from a panel of judges that will focus on improvements to each aspect of the marching performance – music, marching, visuals, flags/dance, drum line, and drum major. The marching exhibition is free and open to the public and begins at 7:00PM.
Students will report to North Springs to load the buses at 4:30PM. We need to depart no later than 5:00, so please be on time. Students who live on the south side of town have the option to meet us at Tri-Cities at 6:00 (look for the band staging area which should be along Harris Street). These students will need to take their uniforms and instruments home after the game on Friday. The exhibition will conclude around 9:30. South side students will need to turn in a letter signed by a parent or guardian by this Friday. The letter should specify how the student should be released – to a parent, carpooling with others (please provide name of driver), etc. Students traveling by bus should arrive at North Springs between 10:30 and 11:00.
Sandy Springs Festival
This Sunday is our performance at the Sandy Springs Festival. We will play from 2:30 to 3:15 on the Heritage Green. We will be performing a mix of stands tunes, cadences, and our show music. Students will meet at 1:45 in the parking lot at 6010 Sandy Springs Circle, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 (where Ace Hardware was before it closed). Students are responsible for getting their instruments to and from the performance. The school will not be open on Sunday. Dress for the performance is show shirts (which we will receive this week) and shorts. Students will be released after the performance from the same parking lot and will be allowed to re-enter the festival.
That’s all for now!
